The lifting platform is built around a solid 1-1/2" thick piece of red oak veneer core plywood with a catalyzed conversion varnish natural finish. On each side of the wood center piece there are two layers of 3/4" thick recycled and re-vulcanized rubber mats. This provides a total of 1-1/2" of rubber to absorb the impact of dropped weights. The 43-3/4" x 59-1/2" wood insert fits inside the Half Rack. A powder coated steel frame surrounds the platform and keeps the pieces from shifting during use.
