The victory marked the second World Series title for the Cardinals and the first for a group of players that would become forever known as the Gas House Gang.The 1934 World Series is also remembered for two unique moments: Dizzy Dean being carried off the field during Game 4 after being hit in the head by a thrown ball while serving as a pinch runner and Medwick being pelted with garbage by fans after a hard slide into 3rd base in Game 7.
